3 Peakers

A group of eight friends representing Penelope Payroll and Ullyott Accountants in Driffield have all successfully completed the gruelling Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge of walking 24.5 miles in an amazing 11 hours.  The group battled through and climbed over 5000ft and their efforts have raised over £3000, which is to be donated to the David Nesfield Charity Fundraiser, which supports Air Ambulance, Gamekeepers Welfare Trust and Pinderfields Hospital.

The primary aim of the challenge was to raise enough money to buy a lightweight wheelchair for David Nesfield, a gamekeeper on the Burton Agnes estate, who suffered a life changing accident last summer, which left him paralysed.

"I would like to say a really big thank you to all those who kindly sponsored us." said Samantha Ullyott "It was a mountainous challenge, but it makes all our aches and pains worthwhile!"

"We all trained hard for the walk, and the support we have received has been unbelievable.  The view from the summit of the highest Peak; Whernside was spectacular.  Determination got us through, and the thought that we are walking for those who can't walk." commented Laura Nesfield, daughter of David.

The group of walkers taking part in the event were: Samantha Ullyott, Martin Tuttle, Sharon Falkingham, Julie Bulmer, Andrew Bulmer, Laura Nesfield, Tom Jackson and Sally Fenton.

Donations can still be made through the practice at 6 George Street, Driffield, through PayPal on the Ullyott website www.ullyott.co.uk/payments or make a bacs payment – details of which are on the Ullyott website.

Charity walkersA group of nine friends representing Penelope Payroll and Ullyott Accountants in Driffield are making their final preparations for the Yorkshire 3 Peaks charity challenge on Saturday 14th June.

The aim of the challenge is to complete a 24.5 mile walk, taking in the three highest peaks in Yorkshire: Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough within 12 hours.  The walk has been organised by accountants, Samantha Ullyott and Martin Tuttle to raise money for the David Nesfield Charity Fundraiser.  The Charity fundraises for individuals with spinal injuries and for charities such as The Air Ambulance, Gamekeepers Welfare Trust and Pinderfields Hospital.  David Nesfield, a gamekeeper on the Burton Agnes estate, suffered a life changing accident last summer, which has left him paralysed and confined to a wheelchair.

"The walk will be very demanding for all of us; none of us are experienced walkers, but I'm sure we will be rewarded with the views from each summit, and it will be an experience to remember for the rest of our lives." says Martin Tuttle "We have all trained hard over the last few months, and are now looking forward to climbing the mountains.  I just hope the weather is kind to us and no-one gets any blisters!"

"We chose to fundraise for David Nesfield and his chosen charities as David's wife, Sally works in the practice, and we all know how accidents affect the whole family" commented Martin.

"The team are all fantastic; they are giving up their free time and raising the profile of worthy charities.  David and I can't thank them enough; all money raised will be split between our chosen charities. Our primary goal is to raise enough money to purchase a lightweight wheelchair which will give David more freedom." says Sally Nesfield.

If anyone would like to sponsor the team, all donations, no matter how small, are gratefully received and will make a difference.  You can donate through the practice at 6 George Street, Driffield, through PayPal on the Ullyott website www.ullyott.co.uk/payments or make a bacs payment – details of which are on the Ullyott website.
